I thought maybe I could just go to the Blurb website and design my book there, all online, only to find that they have no iPad support! You can only do it via Mac or PC though a downloaded app which is not available in the App Store. For a decade I’ve been printing 10x8 landscape sized books and now I can only choose a 7x7 or 5x5, neither of which are large enough to really display my photos well. I have been so discouraged to see that this app only allows two size options, which means that my books can no longer be consistent. This year I switched to using only an iPad and there is no book module in the mobile version of Lightroom. I’ve been using Blurb for 10 yrs and now I have to find something else.įor ten years, I’ve been printing photo books through Blurb using Lightroom’s book module. BookWright offers plenty of choice in terms of book formats, covers and paper types.

We appreciate your feedback about the ability to remove the Blurb logo. Hope to see a logo removal option soon Blurb! It is also irritating to spend a significant amount of time making a book only to realize at checkout you’ve wasted days of work. I hope the team will make this app more useful for commercial artists in the future as it is an excellent service otherwise. For me, the logo negates all the other excellent features, like ease of use, great layouts, even some customization options (not the removal of the Blurb logo obvi). I understand there may be a cost to remove the Blurb logo from the back of your book, as the advertising likely offsets the price a bit, but at this time I can’t see it’s purpose (as a company and an app) who supports artists yet doesn’t provide a service that is useful for those hoping to sell art photography, portfolio, etc. In addition though, the main book I will be dealing with is the unfolding of the ‘book of karma’ – both my own and those of the people I work with.Great app, great service, but completely unusable for anyone who is creating commercially or who is particular about aesthetics. I will continue to write my own books and help others with their’s. A change of name would be a massive undertaking. The word book also has many meanings – nowadays, it can be an ebook, an iPhone app, an Enhanced Edition book and many others. So the word “wright” means many things … all of which I do. Since I first came up with name, I was always aware it was what’s called a phonological ambiguity – as it’s right to write a book, right? Along the creative path, if any barriers came up, I have always been well aware that they were life blocks that showed themselves up as writer’s blocks.Įxamples might be not enough time in the day, fears of being ridiculed or even success and good old procrastination which shows its face with us becoming ‘busy fools’. When working with clients with my hat of the Bookwright, it’s been clear for some time that I have always been doing much more than helping them merely write a book.
